Harley Davidson Knucklehead Mirrors and Other Features of this Brand

Gone are the days when Harley Davidson faced great challenges and thought about pulling out of the motorcycle venture. Did you know that this company that is now being hailed all over the world once faced near bankruptcy? Many factors led to that situation including the total misuse of HD motorcycles on Hollywood TV and films. There was a time when the brand was associated with gangsters, drugs and other negative elements. It took time to completely erase such trauma. But the good news is that now, HD is back on track. The people behind it seemed to have learned their lessons the hard way.

There are many features that each kind of HD model comes with. One popular choice for enthusiasts and collectors are the Harley Davidson Knucklehead mirrors. This feature looks great, thus making the overall appeal positive and makes the rider feel proud about their bike. But this also adds a safety feature to the bikes.

Knucklehead is the nickname that the Model E engine got because of its shape. This engine was first manufactured in 1936 up until 1947. This was made popular when Fred Ham rode it to set a distance record that made it into history books.

The knucklehead engine has two cylinders with two valves in each cylinder. It also contains pushrod V-twin. This was the third of the V-twin engine type. This kind came in as replacement for the Flathead engine. In 1948, Panhead engine was introduced to replace the knucklehead types.
